DIARY OF A LIVING FÖSSIL
Move along, there is nothing for you to see here In fact, last time you met, he wasn’t there….
One more song - for some future ear to hear The final curtain call - he feels your hopes may fall (keep tweeting).
He’s still there, where’d you think he’s been hiding?
He hears it in your sigh - A million years…. go…..
By the time archaeologists dig him
At least he’ll have been dug - he’ll try not to sound smug (or honored).

Here’s a thought: would you like something hotter so you can all dance, let the beat never falter? Fame, fashion, name recognition. Stars shining - you look up in the night through those light years.
Just a job, just a job like anyone, with passion, skill and time, time, going
Gone the days, gone, the good old days are gone
And now this lot’s for sale, you’d love an epic fail (feels so good).

Galvanized, like some pan you’ll fry your brains, scramble them up.
No, I meant his resolve lasting through the centuries, evolved (almost not at all). Here’s a thought: would you like something hotter so you can all dance - let the beat never falter?
Fame, fashion, name recognition Stars shining - you look up in the night through those light years.
Up every night with just your fears.

He’ll go on, yes, he’ll keep going on Unchanged by time, yes, he’ll keep going on. Please move along, let him keep going on. Nothing you say or do will stop his song. Please move along, let him keep going on. (keep movin’ on) If you think this is about me, you’re wrong….? (keep movin’ on, gotta keep moving on!)

IT’S STILL THE TIME

Just once could “once upon a time”
be your own first and last line?
Well, now, wouldn’t that be fine?
 I don’t know, I think I changed my mind
I would rather it not rhyme -
If I could by design.

It’s still the time
 to begin what we thought
maybe was just ending now.
What’s yours, is mine, every chord, tortured word
. Though they seem so obscure, with some age, might mature.

Not very often I’ll have a dream
. Things are heard but unseen
. Waking, wonder what it means
. Running to the piano if I can
 recall notes and everything
, here’s what I heard someone sing: It’s still the time
to begin what we thought
may be never-ending now.
 We’ll prune that vine
and we’ll both watch it grow
and then before you know
 we’ll be drinking its wine.

Who needs another song like this?
(and then I tell you as much)
(sometimes they write themselves)
I still can’t sing it like I want.
“Oh, what’s this now? He’s at it again!”

It’s still the time
to begin that happily ever after ending.
It’s still the time. (It’s still the time)
It’s still the time. (Just once could “once upon another time”?)
It’s still the time. (It’s still the time)
It’s still the time. (I don’t know, I guess it’s still the time).

I’M TERRIBLE WITH NÄMES It’s not because I don’t know you, It’s not because I don’t care,
You might think maybe I’m just lazy, And either way, it don’t seem fair — at all. I never can forget a face
Or any place I’ve ever been. It seems some things always escape me.
I never meant to do no wrong — at all. Because I’m terrible with names I’m terrible with names. I’m terrible with names. It isn’t fun to draw a blank now
When it’s on the tip of my tongue.
Could it be a senior moment? I’d like to think that I’m still young — still sound. Just in case I can’t remember
Who you are or where you’ve been, It isn’t personal, I promise
To say the wrong name or even — pronoun. Guess I’m terrible with names I’m terrible with names. I’m terrible with names. But late at night I can remember
When there’s no one else around (oh)
Now, what to call this album and song?
 Mmm…..
